Tech Tips and Bits of Cool Information
Don't throw that hard disk away!
Let Perry Computer Services take a look before you give up. We have invested heavily in equipment, software and training to retrieve data from hard drives that have experienced accidental file deletion, accidental formatting, lost partitions, damaged surfaces, boot up corruption, operating system failures and more. We can tell you if we can help in less than a couple of hours in most cases. If we can't help you there is no charge for our diagnosis!
Virus attacks are on the rise!
Being attacked by malware, spyware, a virus or a multitude of other invasions such as browser hijackers, snoops, trojans and worms is now a matter of when - not if. Anti-virus software developers release their vaccines after the bug has attacked the world - so if you are using high end security software you are being invaded. We only recommend ESET, and that's because our experience has been negative with most, and positive with ESET. Even with our trust and faith in ESET we still highly recommend frequent disk cleans, maybe a C-Cleaner and an occasional system check with some of the free tools like Spybot Search and Destroy and certainly windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. We are happy to come to you and help you download and setup a complete security plan for your personal or business PC's.
Upgrading versus Buying New - How to know what to do . . .
The most important factor to consider is what do you do with your computer? Second is the age of the computer, and lastly, what the factory specifications are that define if and how much you can upgrade your computer.
Just about every desktop or laptop computer has limitations about how much memory, how many slots, what kind of graphics you can run, and if your computer can handle a 64 bit operating system.
To open and run large applications (like photoshop or microsoft word) and/or dabble with photography, your concerns need to be on memory and graphics. If you are just surfing the internet, you need to focus on memory and speed.
So the short of it is to check what you expansion capabilities are, see if what you are doing will benefit from the expansion, and can your PC handle the software (you can't load an Adobe Suite of Coral Draw on a windows 98 Operating System!).
Perry Computer Services will help you with this decision. Tell us what you have, tell us what you want to do and we'll give you a simple and honest answer about which direction you should go.
